What are the upcoming phones in 2022?

by Steven Brown

For smartphones, 2021 was a great year. However, 2022 has the potential to be much better. We’ve already seen Samsung’s Galaxy S22 line, which includes the drastically different Galaxy S22 Ultra, and Apple’s new phone, the inexpensive iPhone SE (2022). There are rumours of a major redesign of the iPhone 14 Pro, a slew of new foldable phones, and trustworthy flagships. Many of these phones look promising and, at the very least, are unique, distinctive, or original in some way. Although we’ve made it through the first busy period of the year, we’re just beginning our second busy period of the year. As a result, we’ve outlined some of the more intriguing possibilities that we expect to see throughout the remainder of 2022.

iPhone 14 range

Even though it’s a clear choice, the iPhone 14 and its siblings are among the most eagerly awaited smartphones of 2022, so we couldn’t leave them out. According to reports, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are expected to have completely redesigned designs, with no notch and two camera cut-outs instead of the current notch. Also rumoured to be coming is the iPhone 14 Max, a smaller version of the iPhone 14 with a 6.7-inch screen that might replace the iPhone 14 tiny. Leaks also indicate that the cameras will be getting a major update, with 48MP sensors (up from 12MP on the current versions) in the works, and since these are iPhones, they’re sure to have a tonne of power. The iPhone 14 range is expected to be released in December, so additional leaks are likely before then.

Motorola Frontier

The Motorola Frontier may be Moto’s most powerful phone regarding camera quality and display resolutions. The phone is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and has a 194-megapixel main camera. Vivo has confirmed that the X80 series will go on sale on April 25 in China, but the company has not yet announced a global rollout date. Rumours say it won’t be out until July of that year. Expect 80W charging, Android 12, and a 6.78-inch AMOLED display from the phone with a rear-facing Zeiss camera.

Nokia X50

Many rumours suggested that Nokia was working on a five-camera Nokia 8.3 replacement, but the trail seems to have dried up. Instead, Nokia may be working on the Nokia X50. A 6.5-inch screen and Snapdragon 700 series chipset could be on the way, as well as a primary camera with a resolution of 108 MP. Now, we’re looking at a launch date of 2022.

Samsung galaxy s30

Samsung is the most widely recognised name in the mobile phone market. According to a reliable source, a new Galaxy S Series phone is coming before the end of 2022. Samsung’s S30 2022 is the model number of this device. Thus, the samsung s30 ultra has become the most anticipated flagship phone of the year. Samsung’s Galaxy S30 2022 smartphone has a luxurious look, top-notch specs, and the most recent technological advancements. Currently, we’re focused on the Samsung Galaxy S30, which boasts a large battery and a powerful camera. Here are some rumoured specifications for Samsung’s Galaxy S30 2022, slated to be released in 2022.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus-powered Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to be in the works, even though the Xiaomi 12 was unveiled at Mobile World Congress. It is expected to go into production in the third quarter of 2022.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

Galaxy Z Fold 4 is scheduled to be unveiled in 2022 by Samsung at a major event. In far of size and design, we should expect it to be similar to the Z Fold 3, but it will supposedly be thinner. As far as we know, the S Pen will not be included in this phone’s launch.

Unexpectedly, Google confirmed the design of the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro. For now, the teaser was made during Google I/O 2022 – but the launch date isn’t planned until October of that year. Unlike the previous model, the camera bar on the back has been made out of aluminium, like the rest of the frame.

Google Pixel Fold

We’ve heard about the Google Pixel Fold for a long time, and recently we’ve heard that it will be released in late 2022. A 7.6-inch foldable OLED screen and the same Tensor chipset as Google’s Pixel 6 range have been rumoured thus far. For now, we’d advise caution, but this is one of the few non-Samsung foldable phones we’d be willing to get excited for.

Tecno Camon 18 Premier

For the second half of 2022, TECNO could get a new flagship phone, the Tecno Camon 18 Premier. Leaks say it will sport a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 CPU and 150W charging, beating the Tecno Camon 18 Premier on both fronts. However, it appears to have a lower-resolution screen, weaker cameras, and a smaller battery capacity than its predecessors. It’s still not obvious where the Camon 18 will fit in the market, but leaks suggest it will arrive this year, so that we might find out soon.

Conclusion

These are the next mobile devices that will be released in 2022. Then, we select the alternative that is most suitable for you.
