Shane Delano Brandon Chin was born in Jamaica, but his mother soon decided to move to the USA for better opportunities. He didn’t necessarily fit in with the other children , his looks were different , as his mother was Jamaican and his father was Chinese.
Shane wasn’t the smartest of all kids, he didn’t even know how to read until 5th grade, despite attending the best school in Jamaica.
His parents were always strict with him while growing up, but it eventually paid off. When he learned how to read, he memorized an ENTIRE book because of how much his family emphasized the importance of reading.
In Jamaica, he had to repeat the 6th grade which was really discouraging, but seeing his friends moving without him , Shane got the courage to better himself. He made a promise to himself that things would be different from then on. He put in a lot of effort and the very next year, he became the top student in every single subject.
When Shane moved to the United States, it was like entering a whole new world.
Shane quickly adjusted to the new schooling system and did well, though he noted that the curriculum was not as challenging as what he was used to in Jamaica.
Despite this, he still had to repeat 10th grade due to not having enough credits from his previous schools.
Looking back, he is grateful for the experience as it taught him how to adapt to new environments and overcome challenges.
Shane also added soccer to his list of hobbies and quickly became the captain of his team. It just goes to show that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. He had been the captain of every team they ever played for, but his college coach just didn’t favor them.
Shane had gone into college with the dream of becoming a professional soccer player, but that dream quickly ended.
Even though they had graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA and almost a full scholarship to college, none of that seemed to matter.
All that mattered was that their coach didn’t see them as being good enough to play on the college team. He tried his best to change his mind, but all effort was to no avail.
In the end, he had to accept that their dream was over. Shane felt disappointed, but he knew that wasn’t the end of the world, he had to find a new dream to chase.
While in college, Shane had a dream of becoming a Neurosurgeon.
He read “Gifted Hands” by Ben Carson, which caused him to change his academic focus. This book inspired him because he saw himself as the author.
Shane was a loner and wanted to do something that could help people.
He realized he was going into too much debt when he pursued a college degree and instead took a job at US Airways.
As a customer service agent, he was often the recipient of customers’ frustration when flights were delayed or canceled. It was at this time that Shane was introduced to network marketing.
Even though no one accompanied him in this venture, he still lost his job. This prompted Shane’s family to send him back to school to pursue a nursing degree.
Shane didn’t want to disappoint his parents, but he knew he didn’t want to be a nurse either. He was grateful for the opportunity to study nursing, but it just wasn’t his passion. After a lot of thought, he decided to quit nursing school and pursue forex trading full-time.
Since he was introduced to forex through network marketing, he decided to study it and learn as much as he could.
Though Shane had no idea what he was doing at first, he followed a strategy regardless and eventually started making money. His first $500 came pretty quickly, and each time he withdrew money from his account he knew this was something he could keep doing.
In some weeks he made as much as $5000, which allowed him to continue studying nursing while still making a good income. Now Shane easily hits 6 figures in trading and is now a full-time forex trader and has been for the past few years. He is able to support himself and his family through his trading and is passionate about helping others learn how to trade as well.
