According to Brooke Shields,

According to Brooke Shields, shooting naked sequences for “Blue Lagoon” wouldn’t be permitted today.
When “Blue Lagoon” made its debut more than 40 years ago, it was still a very contentious movie. But now, the lead actress Brooke Shields doubts that another film “like that” will ever be produced.

It “wouldn’t be allowed,” Shields, who was 14 when the movie was being made and is now 57, said in a recent edition of her podcast “Now What?” that was made available on Tuesday. Her co-star Christopher Atkins, 61, joined the programme to share memories of their time spent on set.

Since “Blue Lagoon,” Shields has continued to perform. Later ventures include TV’s “Jane the Virgin” and “The Middle,” as well as the 2021 Netflix holiday rom-com “A Castle for Christmas.”

Brooke Shields breaks down when discussing her “saddest drive away” from dropping off her daughter at college.

Shields describes the social push for acceptance of ageing as being very new and says she continues to fight against it outside of her work. The “Blue Lagoon” diva found it frustrating that throughout her decades-long career in modelling and acting, beauty has frequently been associated with youth.

“I responded by becoming irritated and said

, “OK. This is absurd.” I wanted to gather this network in order to firmly assert that being ageless is not the goal. This demographic brings with its vigour, “Shields said in

She founded Beginning is Now

, a wellness company, to enable women of all ages to live their best lives. Shields wants other women to feel strong at every step of their careers as she looks back on her own.

When she injured her femur in a balance board accident in February 2021, her resilience was on full display. She even resisted taking prescribed medications for the physically taxing event. But the path to recovery gave her confidence in her fortitude.

It was likely the most physically taxing experience I had to go through, according to Shields. “Relearning how to walk, having to start from scratch, and spending a month in the hospital alone myself was definitely a test to my soul.”

Alicia Silverstone Displays Her Nude Body For A New PETA Ad
By showing (nearly) everything, Alicia Silverstone hopes to make a strong argument about animal rights.

For a brand-new People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) campaign, which was revealed on Tuesday, Silverstone got naked. The advertisement, which was captured by photographer Brian Bowen Smith, features the “Clueless” actor adopting a “Birth of Venus”-style position in a desert landscape covered in cacti while donning only a pair of imitation leather boots.

The slogan of the campaign is “Don’t be a prick.” “Put on vegan.”

In an accompanying behind-the-scenes video, Silverstone discussed her purposeful decision to never appear nude in a movie or on television throughout her Hollywood career.

But doing it for a worthy cause was something else entirely.

She remarked in the video,

“There’s this idea that leather is somehow better for the world. “But what people fail to grasp is the incredible amount of resources—water, food, transportation fuel, and energy—that go into producing leather. Simply put, it is unsustainable. Earth is unable to manage it.

Later, Silverstone exhorts customers to choose plant-based leathers instead, like those manufactured from pineapples and mushrooms. She is optimistic that similar things would someday be accepted by high fashion as well, a sentiment that would undoubtedly be shared by her “Clueless” character, Cher Horowitz.

She stated, “My dream is to put these vegan, eco-friendly materials in the hands of the greatest designers. “I prefer
