How To Draw A Pomeranian. There are many dog breeds, but it would be hard to find a smaller, prettier, or fluffier species than the adorable Pomeranian. These little dogs have become famous worldwide due to their incredible cuteness and quirky personality.

They’re also known for being absurdly furry and fluffy, and while that makes them very cute, it can also make learning to draw a Pomeranian quite difficult. While it can be a bit tricky, with a suitable tutorial, it can be made a lot more accessible! Luckily this is the tutorial you’ve been looking for if you want to know how to do it!
How to Draw a Pomeranian
Step 1
We’ll start by outlining the face and head in this first step of our guide to drawing a Pomeranian:
- Draw small curved lines for the small snout on the dog’s nose.
- Draw a small triangular nose on the beak. The eyes will be pretty small and round and surrounded by some curved lines to make it look like there is a lot of hair around them.
- Use many small, pointed lines to outline the top of the tapered head.
These sharp lines are used again to make the dog look nice and fluffy. Pomeranians have small, rounded ears, so you can pull them over their heads before moving on.
Step 2
Now that you’ve created the head and face of your Pomeranian design, we can start adding other body parts. First, we draw the chest. This chest extends from where the outline for the left side ended. The tray is also removed with many sharp lines, as we want the torso to look hairy and fluffy like the head. As we move further down, we will also use longer, spiky lines to make the hair look longer and thicker. Pomeranians also have relatively small and stocky legs; in this step, we will draw the front legs. The outline for the front of the legs will be pretty smooth, but the back of the legs will be marked with some more jagged and pointed lines to make them look hairy as well.
Step 3
Continuing with this tutorial on how to draw a Pomeranian, let’s add the beginning of the tail and the back legs. We won’t be removing the Pomeranian’s midsection, so make sure your version also has a short body length by referring to the reference image.
First, bring your back legs closer together. They look somewhat similar to the front legs but are slightly wider at the top of the legs. Next, we draw the rear outline of the tail. It is rolled up and placed across the dog’s back. It is also removed with sharp, curved lines to make it nice and fluffy.
Step 4
Before we add the middle section of your Pomeranian design, we will first add some detail to the areas you’ve already drawn. First, draw some shapes inside the head’s outline, consisting of a pointed section that extends outward. These can be difficult to remove, so try to replicate them as they appear in our reference image.
Once we’ve added these details, we’ll add the front part of the tail. To show that the bottom part ends with thick wavy hair, we draw this part with many wavy lines close to each other. Then we are ready for the finishing touches in the next step!
Step 5
You can now add the final elements before moving on to the last step of this how-to guide on drawing a Pomeranian. It means that we will remove the midsection of the dog. For this middle section, we’ll add other shapes made up of short, curly quotes, like the ones you used for the face.
Complete the outline with some longer, spiky lines, and you’re ready for the final step! Before proceeding, make sure to add any additional details you want.
Step 6
This dog breed typically has a tan and beige colour scheme, which we chose in our example image of this Pomeranian design. You can use similar colours for your photo, but you should also use some unique colours for your Pomeranian twist if you wish!
