Role of Belbien, Xanax And Kaslol

by Steven Brown

Belbien

Belbien sublingual Tablets are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulty in initiating sleep. Clinical studies conducted with zolpidem tartrate to confirm efficacy lasted 4 to 5 weeks, with final formal assessments of sleep latency performed at the end of treatment. Benzodiazepines or benzodiazepine-like agents are indicated only when the disorder is severe, disabling, or causes the individual great distress.

Dosage for adults

Use the lowest effective dose for the patient. The recommended starting dose is 5 mg for women and 5 or 10 mg for men, taken just once at night just before going to bed, at least 7-8 hours before your planned waking time. If the 5 mg dose is not effective, the dose can be increased to 10 mg. In some patients, high blood levels the morning after a 10 mg dose increase the risk of impaired driving and other activities requiring full alertness the next day. The total dose of Belbien should not exceed 10 mg once daily just before bedtime. Recommended starting doses are different for women and men because the clearance of zolpidem is lower in women

What is Xanax?

Xanax is a brand-name prescription drug. It is FDA-approved for the treatment of the following anxiety disorders in adults:

• generalized anxiety disorder

• Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia (fear of being in places from which it is difficult to escape)

Xanax side effects

Xanax can cause mild or serious side effects. Listed below are some of the main side effects that can occur when taking Xanax. These lists do not include all possible side effects.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist for more information about possible Xanax side effects. They can give you advice on how to manage any side effects that are worrying or bothering you.

• Allergic reaction. Your doctor may not prescribe Xanax if you have ever had an allergic reaction to Xanax or any of its ingredients. Also, your doctor may not prescribe Xanax if you have ever had an allergic reaction to other benzodiazepine medications, such as diazepam (Valium) or lorazepam (Ativan). (Xanax is a benzodiazepine drug.) Taking Xanax can cause another allergic reaction. You can ask your doctor about other medications that might be better for you.

• Older people. If you are 65 years of age or older, you may be at increased risk of side effects from Xanax. These include drowsiness, dizziness, and coordination problems, which can increase the risk of falling. Because of these risks, your doctor will likely prescribe a lower dose of Xanax than usual.

• Liver problems. Your liver breaks down Xanax in your body. If you have liver problems, such as alcoholic liver disease, Xanax can build up in your body. This may increase the risk of side effects. Because of this risk, your doctor will likely prescribe a lower dose of Xanax than usual.

• kidney disorders. Your kidneys help remove Xanax from your body. If you have kidney problems, such as kidney failure, you may be at increased risk of side effects from Xanax. Your doctor may prescribe a lower dose of Xanax than usual.

How long does it take to work?

Xanax begins to work about 30 minutes to 1 hour after taking a dose.

Kaslol

Kaslol Tablet is used to treat panic disorder with or without agoraphobia. This statement is supported by two positive studies with Kaslol, the diagnosis of which closely matched the DSM-III-R/IV criteria for panic disorder. The long-term efficacy of Kaslol has not been systematically evaluated. Thus, a physician who chooses to use this drug for more than 8 weeks should periodically reassess the benefit of the drug to the patient.

Kaslol is indicated for the short-term treatment of moderate to severe anxiety and agitation associated with depression. It is only indicated if the disorder is severe or incapacitating or causes the individual serious suffering.

Lasalol should not be used to treat mild, short-term anxiety, such as anxiety or tension related to the stresses of everyday life. Because the effectiveness of Kaslol in depression and phobias or obsessive-compulsive disorders has not yet been established, specific treatments may need to be considered.

Generalized anxiety disorder

Kaslol® is used to treat generalized anxiety disorder. The efficacy of alprazolam in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder has been demonstrated in 5 short-term, placebo-controlled studies.

Anxiety problem

Kaslol is also used to treat panic disorder with or without agoraphobia. The efficacy of alprazolam in the treatment of panic disorder was established in two short-term, placebo-controlled studies.

Demonstrations of the effectiveness of Kaslol by systematic clinical study are limited to 4 months in duration for generalized anxiety disorder and 4 to 10 weeks duration for panic disorder; however, patients with panic disorder have been treated on an open basis for up to 8 months without apparent loss of benefit. The physician should periodically reassess the usefulness of the drug for the individual patient
