Located in Fujairah City, Emirate of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, lies the Fujairah Museum, a collection of archaeological and historical sites. The museum opened its doors in 1991. It has permanent displays of local archaeological finds and a historical look at how people used to live in Fujairah and the UAE in general. History

In 1969, a small museum with just one room opened with displays of coins, farm tools, pottery, and weapons. The Emirate of Fujairah’s ruler, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, decided to create a Department of Antiquities and Heritage on May 27, 1991. This Department is in charge of caring for and collecting items for museums. In 1998, the Department finished making plans to build two large antiquities halls and three heritage halls to make the museum bigger. He also told Fujairah to set up the Department of Antiquities and Heritage, which will be responsible for the museum’s growth and preservation. In 1998, the museum became more extensive, and its current goal reached its limits. There is also a lab and an archaeology section in the museum.
