China Overseas Port Holding Company in Gwadar

Ahsan Iqbal, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development of China Overseas Port Holding Company and Special Initiatives. approved a 300MW coal-fired power project. on Tuesday, giving the Ministry of Maritime Affairs. the Ministry of Energy, the Gwadar Port Authority. and the China Ports Holding Company a 100% share of this power consumption. was instructed to guarantee A project to avoid economic losses to the state treasury.

 Project designed

The Minister issued these directives while chairing the Project Review Conference. The meeting attended by the President of COPHCL. the Chairman of Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) and other stakeholders. The project designed in 2016 under. the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor China Overseas Port Holding Company. The project aims to improve the reliability of energy supply in the region. and will help gradually solve the current economic development. and urban construction problems of the Gwadar district. which constrained by energy shortages.

Gwadar Power Plant

Earlier, the Minister said he provided China Overseas Port Holding Company. with the exact power demand of the Gwadar Free Zone. and shared his 10-year power consumption plan. by the Gwadar Free Zone Authority. citing the 300 MW Gwadar Coal-Fired Power Project. I instructed them to establish the correct power usage. During the meeting Minister also directed the Electricity Department to address the disruptions. and meet the January 2025 completion deadline. Gwadar Power Plant. New Gwadar International Airport Project. China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital, China-Pakistan Technical. and Vocational Institute in Gwadar, East Gwadar Bay Highway Project, Gwadar Free Zone.

China-Pakistan Framework

The Gwadar Port are major projects under the China-Pakistan Framework. . Economic Corridor (CPEC). The minister said the government was already working. on a project to build two transmission lines. from Iran to increase the energy supply of electricity. A grand Thanksgiving celebration held at Gwadar port. along with the Chinese New Year celebration. The ceremony welcomed by children. from the Chinese-Pakistani government girls’ prep school. who sang the national anthem in Urdu and Chinese. They then presented a handmade portrait of the outgoing chairman. of China Overseas Ports Holding Company (COPHC) Zhang Baozhong. to show their love. and loyalty to him. Hosted by COPHC (China Business Center), the event attended. by many participants from various sectors. The chief guest of the program was his Admiral Imtiaz Ali S.I., the Western Commander of the Pakistan Navy. Admiral Ahsan Waqas Kayani, Special Forces Commander, Pakistan Army, SSF 44. Deputy Prime Minister Poledi.

Gwadar District Development Authority

Additional Chief. Inspectors of PoliM from CPEC’s 5th Committee, headed by Prof. Abdul Razak Sabir Gwadar. Prof. Mujibur Rahman Kambrani and Mr. Xiao Tao. and the Chinese side of One Corporation of Gwadar District Development Authority attended. bottom. . of. Hochu. Pakistani government officials including. the Chairman of China Overseas Port Holding Company Limited (COPHCL) visited Gwadar Port. On the same day, Mr. Wang Xiaotao. and his delegation visited Gwadar International Airport Gwadar Free Zone. and Gwadar Port, laid wreaths at the Chinese Martyrs Memorial. and attended a groundbreaking ceremony for a public school in Central Pakistan. poor colony. Land transportation in the Gwadar Free Zone.

Progressing the construction

Mr. Wang Xiao Tao attended the signing ceremony and made an important speech. He said China attaches great importance to progressing the construction. and development of the Gwadar Free Zone. As an important terminus of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). the development of Gwadar Port will undoubtedly. become a model project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. and stimulate the development of the entire China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The important step of handing over the land. confirms both sides’ determination to accelerate. the construction of Gwadar Port. COPHCL’s donation of school buses to local schools, establishment of scholarships. and signing of strategic cooperation agreements with Chinese companies represent COPHCL’s integrity. and social responsibility. China and Pakistan will work together. fully support Gwadar. and Balochistan and related in-depth policies.
